David J. Linkletter, 55 years of age, of Amherst, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2016 at home. Born in Sackville, NB he was a son of the late Lester & Joan (McIssac) Linkletter.
David was a loyal and dedicated employee of CN Rail for 36 years who felt fortunate to do a job he loved and took pride in.
His hobbies included golfing with the guys, driving his motorcycle, hunting and fishing. David’s greatest joy was spent with his family; in particular, with his grandsons. He was a proud "Papa" who enjoyed any and all activities with his boys.
David will be sadly missed by his wife, Kathy (Kinnear), sons, Alan (Julien) of Amherst, NS, Brad (Megan) of Nappan, NS, Derrek (Caroline) of Elmsdale, NS, grandsons, Lucas & Joseph, his dog, Frankie, brother, Alan (Carol) of River Hebert, NS; sisters Debbie and Lisa, several Aunts, Uncles, nieces and nephews and sister and brother-in-laws. Predeceased by his Father & Mother-in-law Crawford & Shirley Kinnear.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Furlong-Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St., Amherst, NS (902-667-8777). No visitation by request. A memorial service was held at the Furlong-Jones Funeral Home on Monday, January 2, 2017 at 2 p.m. Burial will take place in the Hillside Cemetery, River Hebert East.
