It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Harley Boudreau on Monday, January 2, 2017 at the age of 84. Born in Alder Point, on September 8, 1932, he was the youngest son of the late Edmond and Edna (LeBlanc) Boudreau. He is survived by his brother, Terrance, with whom he resided; his sister-in-law, Kay Boudreau; his nephew, Bobby Boudreau and two grand nephews. Harley also leaves behind his very special friend of 60 years, Theresa Gordon and long-time friend, Reg Bungay. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Jerry and Byron and his nephew, Gary Boudreau.
In his early years, Harley worked at Arsenault’s General Store in Alder Point. Later he was employed as a fisherman and was a member of the Seafarers’ International Union. Always interested in hockey, he closely followed the career of Sidney Crosby, which was a favorite topic of conversation for Harley. Harley was a life-long resident of Alder Point and will be missed by the community as well as anyone who was fortunate enough to have made his acquaintance. At Harley’s request, there will be no visitation or service. Cremation has taken place under the direction of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney.
