Scherle: Marguerite Annette Scherle, age 88, of Ponteix , SK, passed away January 5, 2017 at Cypress Regional Hospital. The Memorial Mass service was held at 2:00 pm , Friday, January 13, 2017 from Notre Dame d’Auvergne Roman Catholic Church with Father John Mock officiating. The organist was Daniel Roberge and soloist was Gerald Braaten. The Eulogist was Kristina Binette. The Ushers were Chris Southworth and Richard Pauls. Honorary Pallbearers were Ron Lallier, Ray Lallier, Mark Gauthier, Nathan Gauthier, Bradley Gauthier and Adam Stringer. The Cross Bearer was Jay Binette. The interment service took place at Notre Dame Parish Cemetery. Marguerite leaves behind her husband Alvin of 31 years, four daughters Lucienne (Denis) Lallier, Liliane Hylland, Adelle (Denis) Gauthier, Doris (Guy) Binette and one son Robert (Suzanne) Stringer,; 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; two brothers Lucien Levasseur and Roger Levasseur and one sister Claudette Thoms. She was predeceased by her first husband Albert Henri Stringer on January 12, 1971, her mother Lucienne Landry on October 7, 1949 her father Armand Levasseur on November 29, 1969, seven brothers and three sisters. Marguerite was born in Ponteix on November 21, 1928. She attended Notre Dame Convent in Ponteix. She married Albert Stringer on December 29, 1948. After his passing, she married Alvin Scherle on August 31, 1985 at Notre Dame d’Auvergne Church in Ponteix. Marguerite was a secratary at the Ponteix High School for many years. After her retirement she joined Alvin at Rexall Drugs. She was involved with the C.W.L and also the Curling Club in Ponteix. Marguerite enjoyed reading, curling, sewing and knitting. She spent countless hours working on her petit point and needle point and she also enjoyed cooking and gardening along with Alvin. In her memory, memorial donations may be made to the restoration of church doors at Notre Dame d’Auvergne Church in Ponteix. Lemieux Funeral Home, Ponteix, SK were entrusted with the arrangements.
