It is with great sadness that the family of Gustave Jason announce his passing at Western Memorial Hospital on January 10, 2017 at the age of 83. He was the beloved father of 8 children, 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was a hard-working provider, loving and fiercely loyal to his family. He loved the simple pleasures in life and had a delightfully sarcastic wit. He was one-of-a-kind and was loved and admired by all who knew him. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 46 years/mother of his children Dola Jason, his children: Ron (Lonnie) Jason of Stephenville; Gus Jason of McKays, Barbara Jason (Patrick Oake) of Stephenville; Cindy (Jerome) Hynes of Stephenville; Kathleen (Heber) Jason-Stratton of Corner Brook; Vicky Jason (Barclay Whittaker) of Kitchener, Ontario; Sylvia Jason (Cyril Benoit) of Stephenville; Tom Jason of Stephenville, and Chris O`Brien (son-in-law) of Stephenville. Brother Doran (Pat) Jason and extended family in Florida. Grand-children; David, Ella, Jeremy, Tracy, Jerome, Jennifer, Alex, Riley, Reese, Adam and Jason, Ethan and Noah. Great-grandchildren; MacKaela, MacKenzie, Brayden and Riley, Celeste, Nathan, and Nicholas. He will also be missed by his very special friend Delilah Blume, and all of his extended family and friends in St. Louis, MO. He was predeceased by his parents Gustave and Dorothy and his grandson Dylan Hutchings. Visitation will take place at Russell`s Funeral Home on Friday, January 13 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9. Funeral Services will be held at St. Stephen`s Parish on West Street on Saturday, January 14th at 10:00 am. Cremation to follow service. Interment will take place at a later date. Expressions of sympathy can be made via flowers or a donation to a charity of one's choice.
