It is with much sadness that we report the passing of Ida May (Sharkey) Jay on December 28, 2016. Ida May, daughter of Owen and Caroline (Sinnott) Sharkey, was born and raised in Morell and also spent her teenage years with her cousins, the Mullen family, in St. Peter's. Ida May was married to Franklyn Jay of Mount Stewart. Ida May loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, as family was the cornerstone of her life. She spent the last twenty years enjoying summers in Stanhope and winters in Naples, Florida. Ida May will be remembered for her gentleness and strength and will be greatly missed. Predeceased by her husband Frank and her daughters Karolyn and Maureen, survived by husband Stephen Ward, and also brothers Owen Sharkey of Charlottetown and Billy Sharkey of Nova Scotia. Survived by Owen Jay of Toronto, Paul Jay and his wife Jean of Marshfield, MA, Suanne Jay of Naples, FL, Denise J. Perdios and her husband Don of Braintree, MA and Kevin Jay of Braintree, MA. Loving Nanna to Christopher, Andrea, Patrick, Karoline, Alexandra, Kevin, Ryan and Owen. Ida May is buried in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree, MA.
