The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Saturday, January 14, 2017, of Samuel Rose, of Summerside, aged 82 years. Born in Brigus, NL, he was the son of the late Richard and Muriel “Minnie” (Snow) Rose. Survived by his daughters Elaine (Scott) Murray, Dawn (Brian) Woodside, Kimberley (Terry) Barker; by a son Rick (Barb Howatt); grandchildren Shauna Woodside (Jeff Saunders), Marie Barker, William Barker and Blaise Pineau; great-granddaughter Ella Saunders; a sister Violet; step-brothers Clarence, Graham, Reg, Melvin and Wayne; step-sisters Mabel and Daphne; and sadly remembered by his special friend Olga (Gooie) Rodway. Predeceased by his wife Florence (Gillis) Rose; his brother Tom; sisters Florence, Irene and Marg; and by step-brothers Bruce, Bill, Doug Noel and Richard. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, where a private family service will be held. Interment later in Peoples Cemetery, Victoria West. No visiting hours by personal request.
