Heidi Marie Griffin, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, dear friend, CPA, and resident of Petaluma, CA, died in a solo car accident on January 13, 2017. She was 51 years old.

Heidi is survived by her parents, Laurence and Joyce Crim of White Rock, BC; her husband of 25 years, Bill Griffin; her sons, Garrett, Sam and Adam; her brother Darryl Randall Crim and his partner, Charles Pool of Miami, FL; her father-in-law, William D. Griffin of WV, her mother in law, Nancy Carol Allshouse of PA; her brother in laws, Robert Griffin of CA and Brian Griffin of CO. Her grandparents, Roscoe and Geneva Crim of Redlands, CA, Richard Stanley of San Francisco, CA, and Dorothy Stanley of Redlands, CA predecease her.

Heidi was born in Woodland, CA and spent her childhood in St. John’s Newfoundland, Canada. She graduated from Prince of Wales Collegiate where she was a member of the figure skating club. She continued her education at the University of California at Santa Barbara, graduating in 1986 with a B.A. degree in Business Economics, with an emphasis in accounting. While attending university, she was named Phi Beta Kappa and earned Summa Cum Laude honors, and was a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority. She was a California CPA and began her career with Ernst & Young in Los Angeles. After leaving Ernst & Young as an audit manager, she moved into the private industry with Toyota Motor Credit Corporation. Since 2003, Heidi served as a Principal at CSM+M Accountancy in San Rafael, CA.

On May 26, 1991, Heidi married Bill, also a CPA, in a beautiful wedding ceremony in Manhattan Beach, CA. She became the proud mother of three bright and handsome sons who were the most important part of her life. Heidi was a devoted mother and her love for her family knew no bounds. Her boys gave her such great joy that she often said she was put on this earth to be their mommy. As the sole woman in the house, she enjoyed an occasional girl’s night out but she was primarily focused on her boys. She was involved with their soccer, skiing, and more recently rock climbing. The Griffin family was also active with the St. Mark’s School and Sonoma Academy communities. Heidi enjoyed water skiing, snow skiing, exercising, and an occasional hike, but only if her friends really wanted her to. Her love for the Southern California beaches was almost as strong as her love for fresh guacamole. She rooted for her beloved Oakland Raiders. She was a spiritual woman who joined the Catholic Church later in life. Heidi was always generous with her time and love, and always accommodating to those around her.

She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am on Friday, January 27th at the St. Vincent DePaul Church, 35 Liberty Street, Petaluma, CA. Father Gary Lombardi will officiate. Condolences may be offered at St. Vincent’s de Paul Church. A reception and life celebration to follow service. In lieu of flowers:
