MURRAY, Anna Jean - It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Jean Murray on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Credit Valley Hospital, Mississauga. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Hilda MacLennan of Scarborough. She is also survived by three nephews, Brent (Sandra) MacLennan of Mississauga, Eric (Elizabeth) MacLennan of Toronto, and Gil (Sandra) Hudson of Sunrise, Florida. She is survived by one niece, Cheryl Hohner (Mel) of Clinton. She will be missed by all of the great nieces and nephews. Jean is predeceased by her husband, Alex Murray, parents Phillip and Margaret MacLennan, brother Ken MacLennan, sisters Audrey Hudson and Kay Pyke, and brothers-in law, Gil Hudson and Frank Pyke. Jean was born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia in 1926. She was a long-time employee with Birk’s Jewellers in Toronto before she and her husband moved to California where they continued their careers as jewellers. Upon retirement Jean and Alex lived in Florida, Sarnia, and London. At her request cremation has taken place and her ashes will be interned at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Scarborough. Jean will be missed by her family and friends.
