Robert J. "Bobby" Dwyer

Robert J. "Bobby" Dwyer, 63 years of age, of Maccan, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2017 at the All Saints Hospital, Springhill. Born in Maccan, he was a son of the late Edward & Ruth (O' Brien) Dwyer.
Bobby worked for the Department of Transportation for over 30 years. Bobby was a big sports fan. He played fastball for the Maccan Royals. He loved to watch hockey, football & baseball.
He was a kind man who donated a lot of his time to various benefits to help those in need. Loved to visit his family and friends. He was a hard worker and a great provider for his family. He loved his kids and his grand kids.
Bobby will be sadly missed by his wife, Donna, sons, Bobby (Vanessa Ross) of Chignecto, NS, Earl of Amherst, NS, Daniel of Springhill, NS; daughter, Shauna (Scott Gilbert) of Springhill, NS; grandchildren, Cassidy, Parker & Reese Dwyer; brothers, Edward Jr. (Ruth) of Maccan, NS, Earl (Judy) of Amherst, Ricky (Margaret) of Maccan, Stanley (Anne) of Springhill, NS; Sandy (Tammy) of Maccan; sisters, Gloria LeBlanc of Maccan, Brenda Burke of St. Catharines, ON, Donna Dwyer of Maccan; several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two infant brothers.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Furlong-Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St., Amherst, NS (902-667-8777). The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 11 a.m. Burial will take place in the Maccan Cemetery in the spring.
Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
