DAY, James “Stuart” 84, of Chaswood, passed away peacefully at Willow Lodge Home for Special Care on January 21, 2017. Born in Chaswood, he was a son of the late Sidney and Helen (Malay) Day.

Stuart worked in construction most of his life, retiring from the Department of Transportation in Brookfield. He had a real passion for Belgian horses and had a natural ability to “team” them.

He will be sadly missed by his children Dana (Jean) Day, Pamela Day, Ellie Day, Cherilee Day, Jimmy Day, Cassandra (Pat) Day, Cynthia (Geoff) Sutton, stepsons James (Bernadette) Miller, Gary (Carolyn) Miller, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, sisters Helen (Harvey) Lively, Ivy Buckley, Lorraine Day, brothers Sidney (Elaine)Day, Leonard (Denny) Day, numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife Florence (Russell), brothers, Lawrence and Donald, stepson Peter Miller.

Cremation has taken placed under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. As per his wishes, a private family committal service will be held in the spring.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of the Willow Lodge for their excellent care.
