Mary Pauline Boudreau, 81, of Petit de Grat, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2017 in Arichat, Nova Scotia. Pauline was born in New Waterford, to the late Charlie Joe Gallant and Hélène Gallant (nee Desveaux). Pauline was predeceased recently by her husband, Cyril Joseph Boudreau, married on December 28, 1957 at Mount Carmel church in New Waterford. Pauline attended the Provincial Normal School in Truro, Nova Scotia and pursued a career in teaching. Committed to lifelong learning, Pauline continued with her own education while teaching in schools throughout the region. Pauline instilled these values of learning and betterment with her seven children, giving often of herself to many causes, serving on boards and associations that could improve the community as a whole.
Pauline is survived by her children, Joseph (Irene), Celeste McLeod (Brian), Jean (Cathy), Robert (Marie), Suzette Parent (Serge), Danette Beechinor (Troy) and Louise (Lorne). Pauline’s grandchildren are Callum, Pauline, Simon, Raymond, Mary Ellen, Julie, Thomas, Ginette, Michelle, Natalie, Lucien, Sylvie and Simone. Pauline is survived by many brothers and sisters, including Rose Salmons (Gile), Bernie (Frances), Celeste (Phil), Sister Claudette, Thomas, Annette Petrie (late Art), Vince (Dini), Alvin (Colleen) and Andy (late Leona). Pauline was predeceased by her close friend and sister, Margaret (Odillon) as well as her husband’s siblings, George (Zita), Nectaire, Viola Shaw (Doug), and Leona Jabalee (Abe).
Visitation will be held in C. H. Boudreau Funeral Home in Arichat Saturday, February 4th, from 1:30 – 4:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will follow at 5 p.m. in St Joseph’s Church in Petit de Grat with Rev. Doug McDonald officiating.
Cremation will follow with a joint burial with her husband in the Star of the Sea Cemetery in Petit de Grat at a later date. Donations in memory of Pauline may be made to the St. Anne’s Community and Nursing Care Centre Emergency Ward campaign or to the Star of the Sea Cemetery Fund in Petit de Grat.
