1959-2017
Doug passed away in the arms of his loving family on February 1, 2017, at Western Hospital, after a year long courageous battle with cancer. Born June 14, 1959, to loving parents, Norma and the late Aubin Gallant, of Piusville. Doug will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 36 years, Gail (nee Fraser), son Kramer (Amanda) Gallant and daughter Valene (Clint) Perry. He will always be a special Papa to Dryden and Maddix Perry and Grace and Kate Gallant. Doug will be missed by brothers, Gary (Carol), of Toronto, Robbie (Sue), of Ottawa, and sister Lori (Dale) Peters, of Huntley. Also missed by parents-in-law, Roy and Ruby Fraser, sisters-in-law, Joanne (Alan) Hardy, Bev (Kenny) Ashley, brother-in-law, Kerry (Kelly) Fraser, and nieces and nepews, Tyler, Mitchell, Kendra, Karissa, Korbin, Karley, Darcy and Megan. Resting at Rooney Funeral Home with visiting hours Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Sunday at the E. Gerald Rooney Memorial Chapel, 2:30 p.m., Rev. Sheila McCrea-MacCallum, officiant. Interment in the Elmsdale Church of the Nazarene Cemetery. During Doug's stays in the hospital, he appreciated having a television to pass the time.
