Francis (Frank) Whitewood

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Frank Whitewood on Friday, February 3, 2017, at the Glace Bay Hospital. Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Margaret Whitewood Marshall. Frank loved Christmas very much and could be found decorating in early November. He was a kind and generous person who loved to cook for everyone.
He is survived by his three step-daughters, Charmaine Pickup Madore, Joanne MacKinnon (Alex) and Eileen Pickup; son, Glenn Whitewood; four grandchildren, Wesley, Joe, Cecil and Kate; his lifelong friend, Danny Morris. Besides his mother he was predeceased by his wife, Mary Pickup Whitewood. There is no visitation by request. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. on Thursday, February 9 at St Anne’s Church, Glace Bay, with Fr Leo Boone officiating. The interment will be in the parish cemetery, at a later date.
