It is with sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear son, husband, father, grandson, brother, uncle and friend, Jason Ashford, age 44, on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 in Alberta as a result of a motor vehicle accident. Born in North Sydney on January 4, 1973, he was the son of John “Jack” Ashford and the late Sharon Taylor.
Jason had been living and working in Alberta for the past number of years and was a member of Local #92 Labourers Union.
He is survived by his father, Jack Ashford (Darlene), North Sydney; by his wife, Lisa (Baker) Ashford, Leduc Alberta; his five children, Justin Campbell, Riley Wadden, J.T., Remi and Jade Ashford; by his two sisters, Laura Lee (Darren) Chisholm, Sydney Mines, Paula (Jon) Milne, Halifax; by his step brothers, Richard, Joey and step sister, Lee-Ann. Also surviving are his paternal grandmother, Gladys Ashford, North Sydney and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Besides his mother, Sharon, he was predeceased by a sister, Jacqueline.
A funeral service and burial will take place in North Sydney at a later date.
