DOUCETTE, Raymond Richard “Crunchie” – age 42, Lower Eel Brook, Yarmouth Co., passed away peacefully on Monday, February 6, 2017 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Born December 12, 1974 in Yarmouth, he was the only son of Raymond and Karen (LeBlanc) Doucette of Ste. Anne-du-Ruisseau. Raymond worked for Sealife Fisheries (Comeau Seafoods) in East Pubnico as a machine mechanic. He will be remembered as a very creative man with a sarcastic sense of humour who was self-taught in many areas including carpentry and technology. He loved his motorcycle as well as playing pool, airsoft and his gaming systems. He also enjoyed the peacefulness of fishing, but when it came to his music, the louder the better. Raymond loved to brag about his cooking and was known for his mean chili and his chowder. Aside from his parents, he is survived by his loving partner of 19 years, Jennifer Jeffery, as well as by two children, Jayden Fowler and Mackenna Doucette. Also surviving are his sisters, Sheila Hubbard (Matthew Fish), Hubbard’s Point; Carrie Doucette (Tammy Morrison), Sand Beach; Tina Doucette (Vickey Fancey), Bridgewater; nieces, Jenneya Smith, Heidi Hubbard, Emma White, Ciara Jeffery-Bent, Maddie Ross and Sierra Cross; nephews, Matthew Hubbard, Josh Smith and Bailey Ross; a great-niece, Cadence Chetwynd. He was predeceased by his maternal and paternal grandparents. Visitation took place from 7-9 Wednesday evening at H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert St., Yarmouth. The funeral service was held at 2 p.m., Thursday, February 9 from Saint Anne’s Church in Ste. Anne-du-Ruisseau, Father Albeni d’Entremont officiated. Interment followed in the parish cemetery.
