Nancy Sisco

Passed on: January 30th, 2017

NANCY LEE SISCO
Nancy, late of Regina, SK, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2017 at the age of 64 years. She was predeceased by her parents Harold and Phyllis and brother Larry. Nancy is survived by her daughters Dori of Regina and Claire of Saskatoon; and grandchildren, Silas, Sabrina and Jessica. Nancy had an extensive career and great impact in the health services region as an RN and later a medical social worker. She always had a passion and a natural ability to help others. Nancy enjoyed learning about new ideas and theories; she was proud to call herself a seeker of truth. She was an ethical vegetarian who loved all creatures great and small. She would say that the greatest thing she ever did was have her daughters, whom she loved more than anything. Nancy touched many lives and those who knew and loved her will always remember her spirit. In closing, her daughters Dori and Claire, would like to acknowledge mental illness and the shame and silence that often comes with it. Nancy fought a long, hard and brave battle and sadly found her only way out was in passing over. To honour our mother, our own pain, and others who are experiencing it too, we would like to encourage those struggling with and affected by mental illness and depression not to be afraid to speak out, to fight through the isolation every day, allow physical connection where you can find it, and to embrace the support of those around you. There are people who care around you. Know you have a purpose even if you don’t always feel it, know that despite the belief that you are unlovable because of this disease that YOU ARE LOVED and accepted just as you are. A private family gathering will be held. Family and friends so wishing may make memorial donations in Nancy’s name to the Canadian Mental Health Association, 1810 Albert Street, Regina, SK, S4P 2S8.
