Brian James Anspach, 41, Saskatoon, died at 5:02 p.m., Wednesday, February 8, 2017 following a stroke at the Royal University Hospital surrounded by family. Brian was born Dec. 29, 1975, in Saskatoon, SK. He grew up in Nutana and attended St. Frances Elementary School followed by Holy Cross High School. He graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in 2001 with a B.Sc. in Computer Science. Until his death, he worked as a programmer analyst for the University of Saskatchewan in the department of ICT. Brian is survived by his wife, Chandra; daughter, Emmalyn; step-children, Kelsey, Daymond, Katarina; parents, Ronald and Maureen; brothers, Jason (Kay), Darren (Aaron Warsylewicz); nieces and nephews, Kyle (Laura Sipko), Brianna, Keenan. He is preceded in death by grandparents, Anna and Joseph Anspach, Alexander Sovak and Caroline Dietz. Brian was a loving husband and father. He was always there for his kids, whether it was taking them to their hockey practices, dancing performances, swimming lessons, teaching them to drive or countless others. Brian had a love for dogs. Maddie, his first, was soon followed by Ella and numerous other rescue dogs over the years. He had a kind soul, and as his last act of generosity, gave others a second chance at life by donating his organs. On Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2017, at 11:00 am, a funeral service will be held at St. Joseph’s Parish at 535 8th Street E, Saskatoon. A reception in the hall will follow. (A private interment will take place after which time the family members will join the reception.) The family wishes to thank Dr. Wall, and all the nursing and support staff that attended to Brian during his time at the Royal University Hospital. Memorial donations may be made to a trust fund for Brian’s daughter, Emmalyn (age 11 months) at TCU Financial Group, 307 Ludlow Street, Saskatoon, SK. Contact Georgeanne Bourget, 306-651-6744.
