Ms. Ruby Mary Walker, of Gull Lake, Saskatchewan, died peacefully of natural causes on February 17, 2017 at the age of 95.

Ruby was born on August 24, 1921 in Swift Current, Saskatchewan to parents Robert McWilliam Walker (former Chief of Police for Swift Current) and Julia Danielson.

Ruby lived most of her adult life in Swift Current. She worked for Canadian Co-operative Processors Limited just after WWII and then for the Prairie Farm Rehabilitation Administration office in Swift Current until she retired in the 1980s. Ruby regularly made weekend visits to her sister Isabel’s quarter horse ranch near Vanguard Saskatchewan. She enjoyed riding horses and she was active in the quarter horse association for many years.

Ruby will be loved and missed by her surviving brother Robert (Bob) Walker and his wife Shirley (of Calgary Alberta) and their children Neil, Gregg and Karen. Ruby will also be loved and missed by her nephews Dwight and Raymond Newton (of Saskatoon Saskatchewan), Dwight’s adult children [Dawna (Funk), Deairra (Lynchuk), Dion and Darci] and Dwight's grandchildren [Halaina Funk, Emma Poelzer, Elyse Funk and Cruz Lynchuk].

Ruby was predeceased by her parents and sisters Isabel (Newton) and Irene (Mabbs).

At Ruby’s request, no services will be held.
