It is with great sadness that the family of Ruth Ellen Barclay (nee Wheaton), daughter of the late Jerry and Laura Wheaton, passed away on February 24, 2017 in Amherst, Nova Scotia.
Ruth will be forever remembered by her husband Gord Barclay, her daughter Sandie Ward (Marc), her son Creig Barclay (Tom), grand-daughters Jayme and Kiwi, and her faithful dog Bixby. Ruth will also be fondly remembered by her brother Don Wheaton, sister Pauline Wheaton, her mother-in-law Bernice Barclay (the late Sandy –and extended family.
Ruth was born on August 28, 1948 in Pointe de Bute, New Brunswick. Ruth enjoyed her gardening, quilting, knitting and gave countless hours through the years volunteering at church and local volunteer groups.
Special thanks to Dr. Short, Dr. Harrison, Amy and Kim (Palliative Care Nurses), Sabrina and Julia (nursing staff) of the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre for their extra care of Ruth and her family.
Per Ruth’s request, there will be no funeral or services. Those who so desire may make memorial donations in memory of Ruth to the Canadian Cancer Society.
