It is with great sadness that the family of the late IRENE (CLARKE) GREEN announces her peaceful passing at the Dr. Hugh Twomey Health Care Centre in Botwood, NL, after a lengthy illness with Alzheimer’s on Thursday, February 23rd, 2017, at the age of 86 years.

Irene, originally from Little Bay East, NL and longtime resident of Wreck Cove, NL, will be lovingly remembered and missed by her beloved spouse, Arthur Cox of nearly thirty years and sons, Terry (Lisette) Clarke and Sheldon (Charlene) Clarke. Irene will also be fondly remembered by her grandchildren; Adam, Jeremy, Chantal and Chelsey and great grandchild, Landon; her sister, Mary Ann Kirby and brother, Arch (Brenda) Clarke; daughter in law, Esther (Wells Clarke) Stewart; stepsons, John (Stella), Roy (Marie), Allan (Roberta), Freeman (Melinda), Glen (Mildred) and stepdaughter, Dora (Paul); three nieces, nine nephews, four step nieces, and eight step nephews; and a large circle of other family members and countless friends.

Irene was predeceased by her first husband (Henry); sons, William, Eugene and Rodney; parents, Adam & Matilda; brothers, George (Mary), Angus (Emily), Neil and Myril (Myrtle); brother in law, Gerald Kirby; nephew, Glen Kirby and her second husband, William Green.

Visitation was held at the All Saint’s Anglican Church in Wreck Cove on Friday evening and A Funeral Service in memory of Irene was held at the All Saint’s Anglican Church in Wreck Cove on Saturday, Feb 25, 2017 at 10:00 am with Rev. Juanita Freeman officiating.

Visitation was held from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Little Bay East Salem United Church on Sunday, Feb 26, 2017. Prayer Service was held at 2:00 pm on Monday, February 27, 2017 and interment followed at the family plot at Little Bay East Salem United Church Cemetery.

The Clarke Family want to make a special thank you to Spencer’s Funeral Home in Harbour Breton, Central Funeral Home in Grand Falls-Windsor and Wiseman’s Funeral Home in Marystown and particularly the fantastic staff members of the Dr. Hugh Twomey Health Centre in Botwood, NL.

In lieu of flowers those who so desire may make memorial donations in memory of Irene to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada, 86 West St., Corner Brook, NL A2H 2Z3.
