It is with great sadness that the family of Edward Eugene Stanley advise of his passing after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by his parents William and Lucy (nee Evans); and in-laws Sidney and Clementine Croucher. Leaving to mourn his doting wife Velma; daughters Danielle (Glenn Genge) and Gina (George Kinsman); and his treasured grandchildren Matthew and Abby Genge, Owen and Ryan Kinsman and of course his furry buddy Boots. Ed also leaves to mourn his brother Graham (Patricia) and aunt Daisy Ellis, along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a large circle of friends. A special thanks to all the medical professionals who offered him care over the past few months, but most especially to the ICU team at the Health Sciences Centre, who offered an unparalleled level of care and compassion. Ed lived his 71 years of life with a great deal of energy and a strong sense of Community. A sincere thank you to all who have shown Ed and his family support and prayers over these past few months. Especially for the personal stories and reminders about his love of people. Resting at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville, with visitation from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2017. The funeral service will be at Fewer's Memorial Chapel, at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 5, 2017 with cremation to follow. In his memory flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children.
