DELANEY, Frances Mary, Yarmouth/Port Maitland - age 97, passed away
peacefully in Yarmouth Regional Hospital on Thursday March 2nd, 2017.
Born in Port Maitland on December 21, 1919 she was a daughter of the late Albert and Lottie (Lamrock) Snow. A graduate of Yarmouth Academy and Nova Scotia Normal College she taught in schools in Chebogue, Argyle, Richmond, and Port Maitland. Upon the birth of her daughter she stayed home to care for her family including her ailing mother. She had a quick and inquiring mind and enjoyed reading, handcrafts, and all types of puzzles. She was a member of Beacon United Church. As her health declined she made a new home at Sunset Terrace, Yarmouth. The loving care she received there is much appreciated. Survivors are her daughter Charlotte Covert, Yarmouth, granddaughter Hannah, London UK, grandson Andrew, Yarmouth, and brother George Snow, Port Maitland. She was predeceased by husband Leslie Delaney, son-in-law William Covert, grandson David Covert, brother Douglas Snow, and
long-time friend Betty Lyons. There will be no visitation-Funeral service will be held Monday, March 6th at 2:00 p.m. from Sweeney’s Funeral Home with Rev. J. Raymond Corbett officiating. Donations may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the charity of your choice. Burial to take place in Port Maitland Beaver River Cemetery.
