Locke (Jones), Jessie Beatrice- 85, Lower Sandy Point, passed away peacefully at Roseway Hospital, Shelburne, on March 2, 2017. Born in Lower Ohio, Shelburne County, she was a daughter of the late Albert Thomas and Martha Lavina (Acker) Jones. In her younger years she worked at Stedman’s 5 and 10 store and Thompson’s Drugstore in Shelburne. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed gardening, quilting, knitting, crocheting, cooking and baking. Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Lemuel; children, Cindy (Darryl) Spidell, Hammonds Plains; Robert ( Joan) Locke, Lower Sandy Point; Sharon ( James) Burrill, Shelburne; Jan (Paul) Hicks, Jordan Bay; grandchildren, Ryan, Ben, Jessica, Sarah, Charlotte, Norah, Maggie, Matthew and Colin; brothers, George (Grace) Jones; Herman (Kaye) Jones, Shelburne; sister, Leona (Clinton) , New Germany. She was predeceased by sister, Dorothy and brother, William. Visitation was Saturday, March 4 from 7-9 p.m. in H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Shelburne where the funeral service was held on Sunday, March 5 at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Joanne McFadden officiating. Burial in Dall Cemetery. Memorial donations in Jessie’s memory may be made to the Roseway Hospital or charity of choice. A huge thank you to Dr. Keeler, nursing staff at Roseway Hospital, and ambulance attendants whose compassion was greatly appreciated during this difficult time. Following interment a reception for family and close friends was held at 4 Goodick Road, Sandy Point.
