She was also predeceased by her infant son Benjamin Heron and infant grandchildren Sharolyn and Angelina Handbury. Lorraine was born January 31, 1930 in Cabri, SK. As a young girl, she enjoyed skating, track & field and swimming at Clear Water Lake. After high school she married her sweetheart Glenn. While raising 5 children she maintained a huge vegetable garden, did canning and freezing plus helped Glenn by driving the grain truck during harvest at their farm west of Cabri. In 1963, seeking better education for her children, the family moved to Saskatoon while continuing to maintain the farm. Lorraine was an accomplished seamstress not the least of which involved sewing most of the clothes for her daughters and then altering and reinventing the fabric to produce new outfits. Her love of music and dance prompted her to take up line dancing. She spent many hours recording the music for the dance club and entertaining us with all her moves. Lorraine enjoyed playing piano, crib, listening to all sorts of music, going to Folk Fest and seeing Rory Allen at the Festival of Trees. In October 2016, Lorraine’s children moved her to the Meadows in Swift Current to be closer to them. The family wishes to thank Dr. Tara Lee and all of the staff in house 3 at the Meadows for all of their loving care and support. A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the chapel of Parkside Memorial Funeral Home with Reverend Bob Cappelle officiating.
