Netta Reynolds

Netta Reynolds

It is with heavy hearts, yet a sense of comfort, that we announce the passing of Netta Maxine Reynolds (nee Rideout), aged 63 years, surrounded by loving family. Netta fought a long and difficult battle with dementia - a disease that robbed her of living a normal life for 15 years. Before being plagued with this illness, Netta was a vivacious and loving woman with a big heart for her children and her family. She had a zest for life and a laugh that would light up any room. This is how she will be remembered by all who knew and loved her. Dementia slowly stripped Netta of her life, but it cannot take away the memories we have of our mother, sister and friend. Netta is predeceased by her parents Melvin and Glossie Rideout; her sister Lottie Hart (Cyril); and her devoted and loving husband of 42 years, Mike, who spent every day with her until his passing five months ago. Netta leaves to mourn her two children, both of whom she took tremendous pride in and adored - Jeffrey (Carolyn) Reynolds and Melissa (Gary) Hartzenberg. Netta would have been delighted to know that her children found such kind and supportive spouses. She also leaves behind her siblings and their children - Joan (Stephen); Wesley (Joan); Jessie; Mylvia (Garry); Melvin (Michelle); Sheila; and Flora (Glenn). Finally, Netta leaves behind her four precious grandchildren whom she did not have the opportunity to know; however, they will learn about their grandmother through countless stories and photos. Riley (5 years old) and Parker (3 years old) Hartzenberg; and Mason (3 years old) and baby Casey (3 months old) Reynolds would have been her pride and joy. They are so fortunate to get to call her their nanny. A kind thank you to Netta's sister, Sheila, who continues to ensure that Netta's memory lives on and who has become a huge part of Netta's children's and grandchildren's lives. We are eternally grateful for your love and support. A very special thank you to the nurses, the staff and Dr. O'Shea of St. Patrick's Mercy Home who took care of Netta and showed her tremendous respect throughout her illness. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Cremation has already taken place. A visitation to celebrate Netta's life will take place on Saturday, March 11, 2017 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada to help find a cure for this life altering and cruel disease.

The long goodbye has come to an end. You are finally free.
