It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elizabeth Nugent (Aucoin) in her 77th year. Elizabeth passed away on March 18, 2017 at 7:47 a.m. in the Foyer Pere Fiset Nursing Home, Cheticamp, with her loving family at her side. Born in Cheticamp she was the daughter of the late Christopher and Emma (Roach) Aucoin; she was a former member of St. Michael’s Parish, River Ryan and more recently a member of St. Leonard’s Parish, New Waterford. Elizabeth will be sadly missed by her loving husband, Albert Nugent; her three cherished children, Darlene Crawford, Brian (Jean) Nugent and Michelle (Jack) Clark. She was a proud grandmother of six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters, Laurette McGillivray, Marie Helen Chaisson and brother, Marcellin Aucoin. Elizabeth will also be missed by her many brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.
Besides her parents, Elizabeth was also predeceased by brothers, Wilfred and Albert; sisters, Rita Breininger and Teresa McCue and son-in-law, Edmund Crawford. There will be no visitation or funeral service at this time; cremation has taken place under the care and direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St. New Waterford.
A graveside committal service will be at a later date in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, New Victoria. As an expression of sympathy for Elizabeth, memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society. At this time we would like to give a very special Thank You to the wonderful staff at Foyer Pere Fiset, for the loving and compassionate care given to her.
