It is with sadness that we announce the death of Marta Sue (Mahini) Chernin. Marta died peacefully on March 21, 2017 in Halifax. She is survived by her mother, Shirley and her brother Mark (Karen). Born on May 4, 1953, Marta grew up in Glace Bay and proudly maintained her small town roots. Marta had a remarkable talent to make connections and bring people of different walks of life together. Marta leaves behind an eclectic world of loving friends and family who will miss her deeply.
Her funeral will take place Thursday March 23, 2017, 11 a.m. at Patten Funeral Home, Union St, Glace Bay followed by internment in Glace Bay at Congregation Sons of Israel Cemetery.
