It is with deep sadness that we must announce the passing of Mary Angelic Haley, age 91, of Tidnish Bridge, NS. Mary passed away peacefully at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, surrounded by her loving family on Monday, March 20, 2017.
Born in Pomquet, NS, she was a daughter of the late Cyril and Margaret Benoit.
Mary was a member of Holy Family Church, Amherst and was formerly employed with Northern Telecom, retiring in 1988. She always looked forward to reading the newspaper, and loved to sit in the window watching the birds and wildlife as well as activity on the road and spending time with family.
She will be dearly missed by her daughters, Susan (Lawrence) Field, Moncton, NB, Donna Haley (Brian Haskill), Brighton, ON, Kathleen (Stephen) Baxter, Baie Verte, NB and Lisa (Ian) Haynes, Tidnish, NS; sons, David, Tidnish, John (Faye) Tidnish, and George (Dianna Miller), Warren, NS; 22 grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren; sister Margaret (Mike) McNeil, Hamilton, ON and brother John (Liz), Hastings, ON, numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband James, sons, Donnie, Robert and Alan and a daughter, Anne; brother, Arthur and sisters Leona, Theresa and Elva.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St., Amherst, NS (902-667-8777) where visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 6 to 8 pm and from 10 until 10:45 am on Friday. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Church, Amherst, on Friday, March 24, 2017 at 11 am, Father Keith Billard officiating, followed immediately by a reception hosted by the CWL in the church hall. Burial will take place in the St. Charles Nativity Cemetery in the spring.
Those wishing to make a donation in Mary's memory may do so to the Holy Family Church, the Heart and Stroke, or the charity of your choice.
