It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our great mother, Jopie. She passed away suddenly at the Lake Bonavista Village Retirement Residence in Calgary, AB at the age of 87 years. Leaving to mourn with cherished and loving memories are, Pierre, Ian, Herman, Maria, Mary-Jane, and Carmen; and her grandchildren Joy, Joshua, Christina, and Kayla. Jopie was predeceased by her husband Peter. Jopie was born in Hoogvliet, Netherlands and moved to Canada later, living in Alberta, Newfoundland, and British Columbia. She loved laughter, boardsailing, rowing, dogs, and she gave out big smiles to everybody. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations being made in Jopie's memory directly to your local SPCA or to Habitat for Humanity International, (121 Habitat Street, Americus, GA 31709-3498).
