It is with great sadness that the family of the late George Clarence Butt announce his passing, surrounded by his loving family, at Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at the age of 83 years. He will be fondly remembered by his family and friends; his children: Marilyn (John) McCarthy, Perry (Cheri Redden), Sandy Gevaert, Michele (Haydn Barrow) and Stephen (Rebecca Pike); grandchildren: Mark, Deanne, Stephanie, Evan, Adam, Jared, Kaelan and Adria and six great-grandchildren; the mother of his children Lorraine Butt; his best friend Priscilla Boutcher and her family; as well as a large circle of family and friends, who dearly loved him, including his Tim Horton's and card playing friends. In keeping with George's wishes, cremation will take place. Friends may visit Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Friday, March 24, 2017 from 3-4 p.m. A celebration of George's life will take place on Friday, March 24, 2017 at 4 p.m. from the Country Haven Funeral Chapel with Reverend Jocelyn Cook officiating. Visitation with reception will continue from 5-7 p.m. Interment will follow at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit at Western Memorial Regional Hospital.
