Mr. James Flanagan of Upper Island Cove, passed peacefully away at the age of 82 on March 29, 2017 at Carbonear General Hospital, after a brief illness and a life of adventure. Forever laughing, weaving stories and making grand plans, Granddad will be fondly remembered by his three children Mark (Sandie Tilbury), Chris (Susan Marshall), Katie (Iain Reid) and their mother Marie Gibson; sister, Winifred (Danny Smith, deceased); brother John (Maureen); nieces Susan, Claire, Katie and nephew Michael in England; grandchildren Basil, Conor, Liam, Alana, Thomas, Ryan, Jake, Marie and Declan and by the Marshall family in St. John's who were so good to him. His exploits and antics will be dearly remembered by family and friends in England, Ottawa, Newfoundland and elsewhere.
