It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of David ‘Dave’ William Ashford, 84, on April 2, 2017, surrounded by his loving family and friends, at Buchanan Memorial Hospital.
Born in Neil’s Harbour, NS on April 20, 1932 he was the son of the late William ‘Bill’ Ashford and Margaret (Seymour) Ashford. He was a member of St. Andrews Anglican Church, Neil’s Harbour.
Dave is survived by his sons, Kennedy (Lee), Blair (Melinda), both of Ingonish, Avery (Sarah), Neil’s Harbour; daughters, Christine (David) Harrison, Middleton, Sharon Ashford, Halifax and Felicia (Andrew) Robertson, Ontario, as well as his 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Jessie, Joyce, Ruby, Lois, and one brother, Donald.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his loving wife, the late Lenora Ashford in 2013; two sisters and one great-granddaughter.
A Funeral Service is planned to take place on July 29, 2017 at 2 p.m. in St. Andrew’s Anglican Church with Rev. Carolyn Sharp officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Andrew’s Cemetery where Dave’s cremated remains will be laid to rest together with his wife Lenora.
