Passed peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on April 16, 2017, Ellen Frances Healey, age 79 of Fox Harbour. Predeceased by her precious grandson Peyton Wise, parents William and Margaret Duke, brother Jim Duke, sisters Sara Traverse, Bridget Traverse and Mary Roache, parents-in-law Patrick & Mary Healey, and brothers-in-law John, Patrick and Peter Healey. Leaving to mourn, with a lifetime of beautiful memories, her dedicated husband Francis of 53 years, her seven children: Bill (Tonda), Mary (Maurice Griffiths), David, Frank (Nina), Terry (Paula), Glenda (Kris Wise) and Darrell (Pam), twelve grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, her sisters: Dorothy Quilty and Margaret (Peg) Duke (Terry Murray), sisters-in-law: Gertrude Duke, Mary Bruce, Elizabeth McCue, Evelyn Healey, and brothers-in-law Gerald Healey, Pat Bruce and Raymond Traverse; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends..

Ellen was a woman of great faith, which she demonstrated in her daily life. She willingly accepted all the trials and tribulations that came her way. She had a deep love for family and enjoyed her game of bingo and cards. The family would like to thank the medical and support staff of the Placentia Health Centre for their kind and compassionate care of Ellen since her diagnosis. A special thanks to Dr. Sandeep Mangat for her exemplary care of Ellen over the past number of years. Also, thank you to Kelly Culleton and Vanessa Griffiths for their exceptional nursing care, which allowed her to stay at home during her illness. Resting at Maher's Funeral Home, Placentia, on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-9 PM, and Thursday, from 9-10 AM. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, April 20th at 11 AM from Sacred Heart Church, Fox Harbour, with interment at Fox Harbour Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted, or donations can be made in Ellen's memory to the Sacred Heart Church Maintenance Committee, Fox Harbour.
