It is with deep sadness the family of Michael Stephen Marshall, announce his passing in Eskasoni on Sunday, April 16, 2017. Born in a tarpaper shack on Crane Cove Road in Eskasoni to the late Stephen and Helena (Herney) Marshall. Mike and his wife Dorothy May were known as good role models and pillars in the Eskasoni community. Mike operated his own garage, servicing many of the residence’s vehicles and fixing the bikes of the neighbourhood kids. He is survived by son, Marshall Louis; daughters, Mary Ann (Reggie) and Mary Pauline (Peter); brother, Leo (Judy); grandchildren, Nora (Francis John), Tim, Mary Louise, D.J. (Georgette), Jeremiah (Laurelle), Chelsea (Richard), Kaylynn, Ma’sl Ji’j, John Andrew and Keith Alexander MacDonald. Also surviving are his 14 great grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; the mother of his grandkids, Olivia Julian; special friends, Georgina Doucette and Ralph Stevens, as well as nieces, nephews, godchildren and all of the kids that they took in as foster parents. Mike was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy Mae; brothers, Bernie (Agnes), John (Josephine), Roddie (Margaret), Leonard (Carol), Lawrence and Wilfred; sisters, Nora and Mary Jane (Abraham); grandchildren, R.J. and Donelda and great-grandson, Joseph Michael. Visitation for Mr. Marshall after 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 20 at the Gabriel Center, Eskasoni. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 22 at Holy Family Church with Fr. Martin MacDougall officiating. Interment in the parish cemetery.
