We regret to announce the passing of our dear son, Keith Gregory Hill Jr. on Friday, March 31, 2017 in Vancouver BC. Born September 13, 1970 in Oshawa Ontario, Keith is survived by his parents, Greg and Betty Hill of Sydney; brother, Kurt; sister-in-law, Diana Greenfield; niece, Kristen Hill, North Sydney; daughter, Ainslie Hope Elizabeth Hill (Halifax); his very special friend and fiancé, Olive Casaje, Philippines; grandmother, Florence Fraser, New Waterford, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was predeceased by his younger brother, Kendall; paternal grandparents, William and Gwendoline Hill and maternal grandfather, James Fraser, New Waterford. Keith was a tile setter by trade. He was skilled in carpentry and was recently employed as a labourer in Vancouver, BC. He had a tremendous sense of humour and was always ready with a joke to amuse his many friends and co-workers. He had a very kind and giving soul, stopping frequently to help the less fortunate. He always said he was ‘Paying it forward’, as was his nature. There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. His Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, April 24, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady Of Fatima Parish, Sydney River, with Fr. Bill Burke officiating. Reception to immediately follow at S.W. Chant & Son funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations in his memory be made to the Salvation Army, the Heart Fund, or a charity of your choice.
