It is with great sadness that the family of Jessie Eliza Everill age 97 of Amherst announce her peaceful passing on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Gables Lodge, Amherst.
Born in Sackville, NB she was a daughter of the late Gordon and Pansy (Hilson) Lund.
Jessie was the first female licensed electrician in Canada and worked with her husband for many years.
In her younger years, Jessie enjoyed playing softball with the Amherst Redwings.
Jessie is survived by her children Margaret Everill, Herman “Bubba” (Marilyn) and Pat (Darrell) Gavel all of Amherst and Thomas (Marilyn) of Northport, 7 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren, one sister Jennie Coy of Fredericton, NB and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Eldred, one grandchild and one great grandchild in infancy, sisters Amy Baker, Dorcas Izon and Emily Strathearn and brothers John and Herman Lund.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, May 7, 2017 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (902) 667-9906.
