Ron passed away on May 11, 2017 at Victoria Hospital at the age of 63. Ron is survived by his loving wife of nearly 45 years, Yvette; daughters Tracy (Len) Anseth, grandchildren Aleah (Terran), Aleksi, Akeira; and Pam (Dave) Somers, grandchildren Mackenzie, Zackery; siblings Alcide (Joan) Boyer, Annette (Gordon) Laplante, Louis (Marilyn) Boyer, Sidney Boyer, Cheryl (Kelvin) Tait, and Michelle (Wayne) Lafontaine; Mother-in-law Florence Paulhus (Jean Gareau), brother-in-law Wilf (Bernice) Paulhus, sister-in-law Bev (Kent) Boehm, and numerous nieces and nephews; as well as his special friends Billy (Eleanor) Forsyth, Gordie Vancoughnett, and Randy (Carol) Parenteau. Ron had a love for sports, especially hockey and fastball. He was part of the Raider Alumni from 1971-1973 and found his rhythm with line mates Lenny Hicks and Ray Bansley. He played many years of fastball as a St. Louis Steeler and also a member of the Peace Officers fastball teams, also inducted into the Prince Albert Sports Hall of Fame. Whether it was hockey, ball, lacrosse, bowling, or volleyball "grandpa" loved watching his grandkids play sports. Right until the end of his life, Ron was cheering on his favourite teams, the Toronto Blue Jays and The Montreal Canadiens. When the Canadiens lost out, he was rooting for the Edmonton Oilers right through game 7. Ron worked in Compensation and Benefits at the Saskatchewan Penitentiary for 30 years before retiring at the age of 48, and continued to help out when needed. He was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Evelyn Boyer and father-in-law Julien Paulhus. At Ron's request, there will be no service. A celebration of life will take place at a later date. To support family members, donations can be made to the MS Society of Canada.
