Dad was a resident of the Northside General Hospital for the past year where he fought a battle with dementia, and several other health issues. He was a former Fisherman in Dingwall, a truck driver in Abercrombie NS and a store manager in Bay St. Lawrence, before he was left disabled after a battle with cancer in 1986.
Since then he enjoyed his time at home drinking tea and having a smoke while playing crib and more recently he spent a lot of time driving around seeing the sites and chatting with friends around the “Northside”.
Dad served as a past president of the Royal Canadian Legion, Neil’s Harbour and was a member of the boards for both the Victoria county and Cape Breton District Health Authority. He also served as a past councilor for district 12. He was a proud and devote “liberal”. He loved his politics.

Dad will be missed by us all and will continue to be an inspiration, showing us how tough he could be by making it through all of the obstacles he had.
