Dr. Lynette Adams entered into eternal rest on Wednesday April 26th, 2017 at Tristar Centennial Hospital, Nashville Tennessee after a long and courageous battle with cancer. A service of Thanksgiving and Remembrance will be held at George St. United Church on Sunday, May 28th at 2:00 p.m. The service is open to the public. Lynette was born in St. John's and graduated from Herdman Collegiate High School in Corner Brook, where she excelled academically and in extracurricular activities. She was an active member of First United Church Corner Brook, youth groups, junior and senior choirs. She graduated from Dalhousie University, Halifax, with a B.S.c and from MUN Medical School with an M.D. in the "White Glove" class of 1995. After completing her residency, she started a family Practice clinic in Shelbyville, Tennessee. Her love for children and adults, vision and energy combined with her compassion and understanding resulted in one of the largest family practice clinics in the State. Always an altruistic person, she made outstanding contributions to numerous community groups and organizations. She found great pleasure in opening her house to formal celebrations. In the office, the supermarket or wherever, she was welcoming to patients and friends. Always a woman of dignity and integrity, she exemplified the best in personal and professional conduct. She brought happiness and pride to her family, brothers, children, extended family and friends. She leaves to mourn her passing three precious daughters, Erin, Claire and Kylie; parents, Rev. John and Dallas; brothers, John and Bianca and loving nieces Reagan and Gabrielle. Dr. Corey and Dr. Jennifer and two adorable nephews, Benjamin and Matthew; a dear sister she never had, "aunt Rhondie", a multitude of aunts, uncles, and cousins who supported her in every endeavor; her loyal and dedicated office staff, and medical colleagues. She is also survived by her special friend Jack and ex-husband Rod. She was predeceased by her brother Paul in 1978. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the MUN School of Medicine Scholarship Fund or to the charity of one's choice.
