Samuel ‘Sam’ William MacLean

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Samuel ‘Sam’ MacLean on May 22, 2017 at home.
Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Stanley and Mary (Commings) MacLean.
Even though Sam had been ill the last few years, how he felt on the inside never reflected on the outside. He loved to make everyone laugh and was the light of any room he walked into. He found a new lease on life once he obtained a sooter, and regained his independence.
He will be sadly missed by his partner and caregiver, Viki Robinson; children, Mary (Johnny), Nicole, Jessica (Chris), Kyla, Courtney (Mitchell), Chris and Mark; two grandchildren; sisters, Cathy (Stephen), Marge (Robert) and Shauna; brothers, Franny (Gail) and Junior (Stephan).
Besides his parents he is predeceased by his sister, Wilma.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the RDU doctors and nurses for all of their care over the last 12 years.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 28, 2017 from 1-3 p.m. in the SW Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney, with celebration of life to follow at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating.
