Marie ‘Queenie’ Morrison (Stevens), 71, of Sydney River, passed away Friday, Feb. 6, 2009, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Naomi (Pitcher) Stevens.
Queenie was a bookkeeper by trade, a member of Sydney River United Church and Trinity Church Choir. She was an avid bowler and member of Sydney Suburban West Kinnettes.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Norman (Moose) Morrison; her caregiver and best friend, daughter, Donna, and son, Barry (Maria); grandchildren, Krystina and Candice; sisters, Marion Sheppard and Olive Hulford; brother, John; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sisters, Eva MacPhail, Lillian Frost, two sisters in infancy, brothers, Don, Harold and George.
There will be no visitation or funeral service. Interment will be held at Hardwood Hill Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Nova Scotia Lung Association or Canadian Cancer Society.
