It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marcella McIntyre, 92, of Seaview Manor, and formerly of Glace Bay Road, Reserve Mines. Marcella passed away Sunday, Feb. 8, 2009, at the Glace Bay Health Care Complex.
Born in Reserve Mines she was the daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Gryson) Stack.
Marcella was a member of St. Joseph’s Church, Reserve Mines. She was a 60-year past president of St. Joseph’s CWL and past president of St. Joseph’s Altar Society. Marcella was co-founder of the Twilight Club in Reserve Mines and librarian in Reserve Mines for 25 years. She loved to crochet.
Marcella will be sadly missed by her loving son, Terry, Reserve Mines; brother, Alex Stack, Reserve Mines; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John Edward McIntyre, and brother, Steve Stack.
In honouring Marcella’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. A funeral mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph’s Church, Reserve Mines, with Fr. Conrad Edwards officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery at a later date.
Donations in Marcella’s memory may be made to St. Joseph’s Cemetery Fund.
