NEW GLASGOW - Elizabeth "Betty" Ruth Pyke, 68, of Brother Street, New Glasgow, passed away Tuesday, January 30th, 2007, at the QEII Hospital in Halifax. Born in Thorburn, she was a daughter of the late Salter and Ruth (Turnbull) Patton. Betty enjoyed crafts, music and dancing. She also enjoyed spending time shopping. She had a great love of her grandchildren. Betty is survived by daughter, Susan (Terry) Mullan, Lower Sackville; son, Bobby Kennaley, New Glasgow; grandchildren: Jessica, Leah and Shawna; sisters: Marie (Allan) Patton, Bev (Bruce) Patton, Shirley (Jim) White, Audrey Lucci, Helen (Ernie) Mason, all of Amherst; Joyce (Bruce) Snell, New Glasgow; brothers: Bobby Patton, Fort McMurray, Charlie (Heather) Patton, New Glasgow; Donnie (June) Patton, New Glasgow; Gerald Patton, BC; special friend, Evelyn Rice, New Glasgow; she was predeceased by brothers: Gary, David and Freddie Patton; sister, Margaret Fraser. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation by request. There will be a memorial service held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday from the H.W. Angus Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow, with Rev. John Roy officiating. No flowers by request. Donations in memory of Betty may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
