THORBURN - Floyd Israel Leroy Webb, 73, of Marsh Road, Thorburn, passed away Monday, April 23rd, 2007, at the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born on January 12th, 1934, in Truro, he was a son of the late Israel Webb and Geraldine MacDonald (nee Eagles) of Five Islands. Floyd served in the Canadian Army and was stationed in Germany. He was employed with Steel Furnishing, Eastern Wood Workers, worked in the pulp industry with Wes MacLennan, and Trenton Car Works until his retirement. He was an avid fisherman and loved hunting, gardening and working on his hobby farm. Floyd is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jessie Webb (nee Fraser), Stellarton; sons; Floyd Jr. (April Rhyno), Thorburn; Dale (Tammany), Thorburn; Darrell (Brenda), Peidmont; grandchildren: Floyd, Melissa, Jermy, Staci, Dale Jr., Brittany, Christopher, Logan and Landon; great-granddaughter, Nicole; brothers: William (Emily), Linacy; Robert (Doreen), Thorburn; Ray (Nancy), Blue Mountain; Gary (Margaret), New Glasgow; sisters; June Mulligan (Buster), Stellarton; Juanita Young (Buddy), Oshawa, ON; Joy Fitzpatrick (Alex), Thorburn; Hazel White (Bill), Thorburn; many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the nurses in the palliative care unit of the Aberdeen Hospital and an extra special thanks to Dr. Farrell for being a great friend to Floyd and his family and also for his great care. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation by request. A public graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday in the Thorburn Cemetery with Robert Moser officiating. Family flowers only please. Donations in memory of Floyd may be made to the Palliative Care Society or the Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the direction of the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
