George Douglas "Teddy" Tye

STELLARTON - George Douglas "Teddy" Tye, 61, Stellarton, passed away, Tuesday, February 6, 2007, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of Helen Joan "Junie" (Burrows) Tye, New Glasgow, and the late George Wallace "Geordie" Tye. He had been a truck driver, retiring due to ill health. Teddy was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather and brother. Surviving besides his mother, Junie, are his wife, Shirley Ann (Pettipas); daughter, Kenda (Leslie) Walsh, New Glasgow; son, Kenny Tye, Stellarton; sister, Mary Tye (Everett McCullough), Brookland; brother, Clifford (Shelley) Tye, Trenton; grandchildren: Andrew and Kelsey Stevens, Mitchell and Matthew Tye; step-grandchildren, Chantelle and Jenelle Walsh; mother-in-law, Hilda Dunn, New Minas; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Geordie; niece, Meghan Alexander. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel with Archdeacon Peter Armstrong officiating. Interment will be in Abercrombie Cemetery. Donations may be made in his memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
