With sadness we announce the passing of Klara Elster (née Krug), in Montreal on April 6, 2017. Grandmother to Seth and Jared, mother to Rina and mother-in-law to Michael, all of New York City. Klara survived World War II in Europe. She earned a Masters Degree in Law in Poland, and then her Masters Degree in Social Work from McGill University. Both in Montreal and on Prince Edward Island, Klara devoted her career to community work and working with children. Holocaust survivor, champion of children's rights, Klara's spirit, determination and sense of justice will live on, and will be missed by her family. We thank the staff at Le Waldorf in Montreal and home health aide Sheila MacDonald for wonderful care. A private burial will take place in Charlottetown.
