It is with great sadness that the family of Mr. James "Ronald" Stackhouse announce his passing at the Ridgewood Veterans Wing on Monday, August 2, 2010. Ron was born in Saint John on June 20, 1924 to the late James "Richard" and Annie (Scott) Stackhouse. Mr. Stackhouse was a Veteran of WW II, serving with the R.C.A.F., and he retired from the City of Saint John in 1989. He was awarded the Queen's Jubilee Medal in 2002 for his volunteer work at the North End Food Bank. He is survived by his wife Audrey (Saunders) Stackhouse, daughter Dianne of Grand Bay - Westfield, son Wayne (Libby) Stackhouse of St. George and Petitcodiac, N.B., grandchildren; Jim (Kim) Stackhouse of Nepean, ON., Darren (Tara) Pollock of French Lake, NB, and Kathy (Jason) Forster of Moncton, great-grandchildren; Cameron and Kyle Stackhouse, and Davis and Destin Pollock, sisters; Marjorie Calvin, Laura Hartin, Evelyn (Allison) Sheffar of Saint John, Muriel Stackhouse, and Linda (John) Wilson of Nepean, ON, sisters-in-law Joan Stackhouse of Back Bay, NB, and Shirley Stackhouse of Thunder Bay, ON, and brother-in-law Edward Creaser of Saint John, NB, cousins Donald (Beatrice) Scott, Shirley (George) Fifield, and Nancy Scott of Saint John, NB, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Fred (Fran), George, Ed (Joan), Harold, Lloyd, and Bruce, and sister Edith Creaser.
Resting at Castle "Fallsview" Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. (634-1701). Visiting on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Thursday at 11 am from Fallsview Chapel. Immediately following the service, a time of fellowship will take place at the Fallsview Family Reception Centre. Interment in Ocean View Cemetery. A Tribute to a Veteran Service will take place on Wednesday at 7 pm at Fallsview.
