MONTGOMERY - Grace Sarah passed away at the Swift Current Care Centre on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at the age of 101 years. Grace was born May 30, 1909 in Heather, Saskatchewan and attended school at Moosomin then furthered her studies at teacher's college in Moose Jaw. Grace married Howard Ross Montgomery on January 4, 1932. She taught at different schools north of Gull Lake and south of Rockglen. She also operated a small lunch counter at Brodrick and was the Postmistress at Antelope, Saskatchewan for 4 years and had several other jobs around the Gull Lake District. Her hobbies included reading, number crosswords, knitting, painting, playing piano and enjoying board games with grandchildren. She also enjoyed travelling with her sisters. Grace was always a happy person with a ready smile but was against having things changed, especially the position of her books and pictures. She settled for the changes in the end with a big "augh, it's fine." Grace is survived by her daughter Gayle Fiddler; son-in-law Norman Fiddler; grandson Lorne (Kimberly) Fiddler; granddaughter Tara (Jeff) Sagen; great grandsons Christopher and Robert Fiddler, Evan and Brett Sagen; great grandaughter Brittany Fiddler and Sara Sagen; great great grandson Braydon Fiddler as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Grace was predeceased by her husband Howard Montgomery; parents Peter Edward and Sylvia Mae Nabholz (nee:Sawyer); sisters Edna Perry, Irene Jones Paulene Lowe and brother Spencer Nabholza also by brothers-in law and sisters-in-law James & Dorothy Pollock and Robert & Edith Montgomery.brother- in law-,Burt Perry Wilford Jones and John Lowe and sister in law Pheme Nabholz Funeral services were held on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at 2:00 pm from Knox United Church in Gull Lake, Saskatchewan with Reverend Bev Diduck officiating with interment following in the Gull Lake cemetery. Pallbearers were Lorne Fiddler, Christopher Fiddler, Robert Fiddler, Dennis Fiddler, Darren Fiddler, and Jeff Sagen. Ushers were Ron Pollock and Bernard Kirwan. Memorial donations in Grace's memory may be sent to the Swift Current Care Center Auxiliary or to a Charity of the Donor's Choice. Warren's Funeral Home were entrusted with the arrangements.
