SEIDLER - Eldon William of Swift Current passed away at the age of 72 years on December 19, 2010 at 10:30 am. The memorial service was held at 2:00 pm on December 22, 2010 from the Church of the Open Bible, Swift Current, SK with Pastor Dale MacFarlane officiating. The eulogy was delivered by his daughter Shannon Elaschuk and son-in-law Maurice Jago. Eldon is survived by wife Eunice and children Wendy (Maurice) Jago of Regina, SK; Weldon (Linda) Seidler of Delia, AB; Darwin (Jody) Seidler of Swift Current; Sherri (Richard) Doll of Herbert, SK (Sherri's friend Leslie Furseth of Abbey, SK); Shannon (Darryl) Elaschuk of Eston, SK and Gary (Dawn) Seidler of Saskatoon, SK. He is also survived by 14 very special grandchildren (and families) and 1 1/2 great grandchildren as well as sisters Irene Dekowny of Calgary, AB and Vina (John) Elias of Langley, BC. Eldon was predeceased by his parents Bill and Mary Seidler, his infant son Sheldon and his sister Doreen Garvey. Eldon was born in the R.M. of Lawtonia (S.W. 32-14-8 West of the 3rd). He attended school at Henke, Walsh Valley and Hodgeville. He married Eunice Stokes on March 12th, 1960 and they lived on the family farm in Hodgeville district until 1989. While on the farm Eldon served as Councillor for the R.M. of Lawtonia, while devoting countless hours to many different community sports organizations. After leaving the farm Eldon became maintenance man at Lac Pelletier Regional Park, a position he loved at a place where he acheived his greatest contentment. He worked at the park until his retirement in 2005. He enjoyed watching and playing all sports with baseball, curling, golf and fishing at the top of the list. Eldon's most special memories were of the times he spent with his family and friends whether it be playing sports or simply visiting, playing cards and telling stories, but his greatest joy was watching his children and grandchildren play sports.
