The death occurred at the Charlwell Nursing Home in Norwood, Mass., on Friday, May 30, 2008, of Evelyn (MacDougall) Towle, formerly from East Walpole, Mass, age 102 years and one month. Wife of the late Kenneth R. Towle who predeceased her in 1976. Survived by one son, Calvin K. Towle of Walpole Mass., a sister, Marion (MacDougall) Shaw, of O'Leary, P.E.I. Born in P.E.I., she was the daughter of the late Jabez and Margaret MacDougall. She went to Walpole when only 17-years-old, worked and married there, had son Calvin and cared for a child, Lee, for several years during the Second World War. Predeceased by half-brothers, Lloyd and Elmer, half-sister Olive, and full brothers, Raymond, Lorne and Albert (Irene), and full sisters, Ethel and Gladys (Charles) MacWilliams. Lovingly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews, both in the U.S. and on Prince Edward Island. Her funeral was held from the Walpole Funeral Home at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2008. Interment in Terrace Hill Cemetery, Walpole, beside her husband, Kenneth.
